In Like a Lion, out like a.... Lion?

Amy S. on Mar 27th 2026

March sure has been a doozy for us here in Northern Michigan.  My ongoing battle with keeping the steps clear seems like it is finally coming to an end (thank goodness) but the blizzard that we had last week sure kept me on my toes. I closed the store for an additional day to allow the road commission to do their jobs- even the county plow trucks were getting stuck in ditches! I didn't think my little Honda Civic would do any better.

New spring merchandise has been rolling in, and it is so exciting to see some freshness in here.  I had a customer today tell me that the store look so full and bright, it made my day.

I am leaning into Michigan Made products wherever I can- I feel like it's SO important to keep our dollars local. I can't ask for you as a consumer to shop locally if I am not doing everything in my power to also shop local.  So far I've recieved a few shipments- I found a new Michigan Made candle maker, JKM Soy Candles and I'm loving her "Ampersand Collection" the jars are so pretty and the labels are clean.  The cork lids add a special touch also.

I've also brought in headbands from The Sassy Olive, that are handmade in Allegan, MI.  They print the fabric in house before they sew them into the comfiest, stretchiest headbands.  I should have ordered more with the Petoskey Stone print- I'm already almost out of them!

I have new orders coming soon from Oat Collective, Faherty, J Society, and Dylan, so keep your eyes peeled!

Make sure to drop me a line if there is something specific that you'd like to see in the store! I'd love to hear from you.
